Isadore Jerome Caldwell, 78, of Little Rock, laid down his working tools on Saturday, July 29, 2023. Isadore was born to Lee Sylvester Caldwell Jr., and Bertha Martin in Marvell, Ark., on April 5, 1945. He was an Army veteran, VFW Post 316 member, Masonic Order brother, Southwestern Bell retiree, and Greater Center Star Baptist Church member. Isadore was a loving father who is survived by his five children, Idora J. Caldwell of Dallas, Texas,, Sheilaine Moses of Memphis, Tenn., Bertina Caldwell, Gabriel Caldwell, and Gayla Green Whitley Bonds of Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren,; one great-grandchild; along with many other family, friends, church members, military, and Mason buddies.The memorial celebration will be held Saturday, September 9th, at 3 p.m. at 1715 Scott St, Little Rock, Ark. 72206. Former VFW Post 1316 Post Commander and Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Leon N. Hamilton passed away on March 27, 2024, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 87.
Leon was a member of VFW Post 1316, and a graduate of S.A. Jones High School class of 1953.
A memorial service was held on May 3, 2024, at 12:00 PM (noon) at the N.L.R. Glenview Community Center. Burial was held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery earlier that day at 10:00 AM.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of one of our beloved members, Comrade Larry Foster, who passed away yesterday, August 3rd. Comrade Foster was a dedicated member of VFW Post 1316, serving several years as the Post Adjutant and in various other positions.
Born on December 12, 1950, Comrade Foster served with honor in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1991 as a Master Sergeant (E7). Throughout his career, he exemplified commitment and dedication, earning numerous honors for his service, including:
- Air Force Commendation Medal with Three Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters
- Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor Device
- Air Force Good Conduct Medal with a Silver Oak Leaf Cluster
- National Defense Service Medal with One Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster
- Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon with One Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster
- Air Force Long Tour Ribbon
- Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with Four Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters
- NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon with One Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster
- Small Arms Expert Rifle Marksmanship Ribbon
- Air Force Training Ribbon
Comrade Foster's contributions to our Post and his service to our country will always be remembered. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Comrade Foster's family and friends during this difficult time. As we honor his legacy, let us keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
